Critics of payday and automobile name loan shops are asking the Dallas City Council to aid alterations in Texas legislation to cut back whatever they say are unfairly exorbitant interest levels and costs.
Based on Dallas officials, vehicle title and loan that is payday places tend to be more common in Texas than Whataburger and McDonald’s — combined.
But a market trade group states the companies are thriving because clients require them.
A North Texas coalition of opposition teams, including a few churches, AARP Texas as well as the United method of Metropolitan Dallas has created to defend myself against the loan industry that is payday.
