Health Risks Faced by Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Youth

New Information on LGB Youth

In 2016, the Centers for infection Control and Prevention (CDC) released the first US nationally representative information in the health threats faced by lesbian, homosexual, and bisexual (LGB) senior high school students. These data reveal that the around 1.3 million LGB youth into the United States encounter more physical and violence that is sexual bullying than their heterosexual peers. LGB youth are at an increased risk for unhealthy medication suicide and use.

Findings from intimate identification, Sex of Sexual connections, and Health-Related Behaviors Among pupils in Grades 9-12—united states of america and Selected web Sites, 2015, posted in CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, show that LGB pupils experience physical and intimate physical violence and bullying at amounts 2 to 3 times greater than compared to their heterosexual peers.
